GREEN BAY- A 35-year-old man is dead after a homicide in Appleton.
Fox 11 says police responded to a call on N. Durkee Street in Appleton early Friday morning.
Upon arrival police found a male victim in critical condition with stab wounds.
He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
According to WBAY and NBC 26, police are now questioning the man’s wife who is believed to be connected to the homicide.Fox 11 says police responded to a call on N. Durkee Street in Appleton early Friday morning.

Story Choice
I chose this story because I work for Fox 11 and this is something we were following very closely today. Also, our social media feeds were blasting with people wanting more information on this incident. It is also relevant because it was something that happened really close to home for me in the Green Bay area. It is not everyday you see a homicide near where you live and with the wife of the victim being the number one suspect.
These types of story make for good local news. They draw eyes. We want to know who, want, when, where, why and even how. This could impact us as local residents. Our neighborhoods may not be as safe. We may need to lock our doors. The proximity in these types of stories strike close to home. I also used a local murder as my local story.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comment and feedback 100%. I work at Fox 11 and this story was generating a lot of buzz not only in our newsroom, but on our social media sites. People were worried and concerned for their safety and the safety of their family. By choosing this story my main goal was to spread awareness of the facts to people near the location of the murder. I did also choose this story because it is close to where I live so I felt like I had a personal connection to it.
